Integrating Salesforce with Outlook

Integrating Salesforce with Outlook is simple, and should not take more than 15 minutes.

To integrate SFDC with Outlook, log in to your Salesforce account and follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Your Name > Setup.
  2. On the left column, under Personal Setup, click on Desktop Integration and then Salesforce for Outlook.
  3. Watch the demo video – This shows you what you need to do from downloading the add-in to syncing your Outlook to Salesforce.
  4. Per the video, before you download the add-in, click on View My Configurations and set it up according to your preferences. Consider what you want to sync and also which tool overrides values of the other when a conflict in syncing occurs.
  5. Then, follow the steps outlined in the demo and sync your Outlook.

This add-in is very useful as it allows you to record all interactions through Outlook on Salesforce. This is especially useful if you manage your sales opportunities through Salesforce.
